Stevenage's highest-priced streets have been revealed – and only one of them is in the town itself.

Land Registry data for the five years to June 2021 (excluding streets with fewer than three transactions) showed that all bar one of the most expensive streets with an SG1 or SG2 postcode were in Stevenage's rural outskirts.

From Benington to Bragbury End, we found out more about these Hertfordshire hotspots...

1. Hebing End, Benington (SG2)

With an average sale price of £1,125,600 in the five years to June 2021, Hebing End is the most expensive street with a Stevenage postcode by some margin.

Located about five miles east of the town centre, in the idyllic village of Benington, Hebing End is an exclusive rural enclave surrounded by countryside.

The most valuable of the five transactions during the study period was in 2020, when a property changed hands for £1.9m.

2. Church End, Walkern

A winding country road located off Walkern's historic high street, Church End saw an average sale price of £928,750 during the five year period.

The most substantial of these four transactions occurred in 2020, with the £1,510,000 sale of a six-bed detached house set in an acre of grounds.

3. Glamis Close, Bragbury End

All five of the new build houses in this gated development were sold for the first time in 2019, with an average price of £871,000.

Located off Bragbury Lane in the hamlet of Brabury End, the four and five-bed properties are ideally placed for access to Knebworth village as well as Stevenage itself.

4. Benington Park, Benington

The sale of numbers one to four Red Barn, Benington Park Farm took place between November 2019 and June 2020, averaging £836,250.

Well hidden from the road, these three and four-bed barn conversions benefit from a high-spec finish and fine views across open countryside.

5. Clements Place, Stevenage

The only SG1 street to make the cut – and the only address among the 'most expensive' within Stevenage itself – Clements Place recorded an average sale price of £823,000 during the five years to June 2021.

Located in the Old Town, off Rectory Lane, this gated development of seven detached homes was built in 2007. Four of the properties changed hands during the study period, including one that was sold twice.
