Remembrance parades and services will be taking place across Stevenage and North Herts on Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday, as the nation honours those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Stevenage

On Friday, November 11, a short Remembrance service will be help in Stevenage Town Square - at the Joy Ride statue - to mark Armistice Day.

Visitors should arrive at 10.45am, ready for a two-minute silence at 11am.

On November 13, the traditional Remembrance Sunday parade will form in Primett Road at 10.15am, ready to march to the Bowling Green War Memorial for the Remembrance service.

Letchworth

Letchworth's Remembrance Parade, organised by the town's Royal British Legion branch, will take place on November 13 at the War Memorial in Station Place. It will be followed by a church service at the Free Church, Norton Way South, at 11.30am.

Baldock

There will be a short service hosted by Baldock Branch Royal British Legion at the War Memorial in the High Street on November 13. Anyone who would like to attend should be in place by 10.45am.

Sadly, this will be the final parade hosted by the branch, as it's made the difficult decision to close.

"Baldock Branch has not escaped and dwindling numbers has made the logistics for this year’s Poppy Appeal and Remembrance Parade an almost impossible task," the group said on a Facebook post.

"This means that although Remembrance Parades will still be able to continue in Baldock, they will not be hosted by the RBL."

St Mary's Remembrance Sunday Civic Service will take place on November 13.

It will begin at 10am, followed by wreath laying at 11am for the Act of Remembrance by the War Memorial

As there will be no street procession in Hitchin this year, the procession will commence into the church from Church House, followed by another from the church to the War Memorial.

If you are just coming along to join the service the church will be open to allow you to take a seat.
