Letchworth Garden City Church is currently celebrating 100 years of serving the community.

The church on Icknield Way began in a wooden hall, but is now as large as it has ever been.

In a recent event, the church invited past and present attendees, as well as Sir Oliver Heald - the MP for North East Hertfordshire.

The church's oldest member, Vi Brown, also attended the event.

Vi's father dug the trenches of the church's original building in the 1920s.

Carl Johnston, the church’s senior minister, said “LGCC has a rich history of blessing its local community and sharing good news.

"We are thankful for the legacy we have and through our centenary year want to continue our celebrations and find new ways to be a blessing to others."

Letchworth Garden City Church currently has 400 weekly members, and runs a 'Uniform Bank', 'Adventure Tots' and other community initiatives.
