The Pokémon Futsal Youth Cup returned with a bang for the 2022/23 season, with a host of Hertfordshire teams tasting success at the county finals.

43 clubs, including Welwyn Garden City Youth, Hitchin Belles Youth and London Colney Colts & Cougars, came from all over the county to compete - with the following teams earning a place in the national finals later this spring:

  • Female U10: St Albans City Youth U10 Wildcats
  • Female U12: Chiltern United FC
  • Female U14: Bloomsbury Futsal Gold
  • Female U16: Chiltern United FC
  • Male U10 Group A: Berkhamsted Raiders Youth Blue
  • Male U10 Group B: Berkhamsted Raiders Youth Blue
  • Male U12 Group A: Letchworth Garden City Eagles
  • Male U12 Group B: Letchworth Garden City Eagles
  • Male U14 Group A: Bloomsbury Futsal Gold
  • Male U14 Group B: Bloomsbury Futsal Gold
  • Male U16: Bloomsbury Futsal Gold

Futsal is a football-based game played on a small, hard court and similar to five-a-side, with the Futsal Youth Cup run by The Football Association in partnership with Pokémon.

Louise Gear, head of development at The FA, said: "What an exciting start to this year’s Pokémon Futsal Youth Cup.
