Trains passing through North Herts were disrupted earlier today (Thursday, April 27) following an incident at Hitchin railway station.

According to a tweet posted by Thameslink just before 9am, an ambulance was called to the station earlier this morning, and southbound trains were prevented from stopping at Hitchin.

In a later tweet, posted shortly after 10.15am, Thameslink confirmed that the disruption had concluded and trains were stopping at Hitchin station again.

During the disruption, Thameslink recommended that anybody travelling on a southbound train and wishing to alight at Hitchin should get off the train at Stevenage, and change onto a northbound service.
