A "worrying" sexual assault has taken place against a girl in Stevenage town centre.

The incident occurred between 3pm and 3.30pm on Saturday, May 13, when a man approached a group of girls in Market Place.

He shouted at them before inappropriately touching one of the girls, who then managed to run away.

Officers would like to speak to the man pictured, as they believe he could help with their enquiries.

"This is a worrying incident which has understandably shaken and upset the girl involved," said Police Constable Bridie Compton, investigating.

"We are interested in speaking to this person, who we think might be able to assist with our enquiries into the incident.

"At Hertfordshire Constabulary, we have zero tolerance against this kind of crime and we will be doing all we can to track down the individual involved.
