Unicorn Ceilidhs are presenting dance band Chalktown, with Sheena Masson calling the dances, for their upcoming gathering this week.

The event will take place on Friday, November 10 at St Mary's Church Hall in Church Street, Baldock.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start, and the evening finishes at 11pm.

Tickets cost £13 for adults, with concessions and children's tickets available, and can be bought at www.unicornceilidhs.org.uk.

Chalktown combine English folk with indie rock and a twist of modern jazz, with a wealth of dance music experience - as the band features three former members of ceilidh band Gas Mark 5.

Paul Scourfield plays melodeon, with Dave Blackmore on clarinet and bass clarinet, Michael Davidson on bass and guitar and Rob Gifford on drums.

Dance caller Sheena Masson is no stranger to the Unicorn Ceilidhs, as this will be her 13th visit.

Interval entertainment will be provided by local dance team Pirton Clog. During the interval there will be a real ale, cider, wine and soft drinks bar, as well as a raffle.

Parking will be available in the town centre.

Unicorn Ceilidhs are held on the second Friday of each month, with seasonal breaks for summer and Christmas.
