Stevenage and North Herts care provider Bluebird Care has been rated as 'good' in all areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

A number of positives were identified for the agency, which provides care for up to 43 people, such as safety and effective care.

The rating is an improvement on Bluebird Care's previous CQC report (in 2017), which found that the provider was 'good' in all areas except "is the service well-led?".

This factor was rated 'requires improvement' at the time.

A report, which has now been published following an inspection in August, reads: "People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.

“People were happy with the support that was provided to them and that it met their needs. The provider was able to provide documents in an accessible format for people if they required it.

“The registered manager had a good understanding of people they supported and had a passion for wanting to deliver person-centred care.

"There are quality assurance systems in place and these systems were reliable and effective in identifying what improvements were needed.

“People and staff were involved in shaping the service being provided and felt listened to.”

Director of Bluebird Care Stevenage & North Herts, Robert Treschi, spoke of his delight at the rating.

He commented: "I’m so happy that we received another ‘Good’ rating from CQC.

“It’s testament to the great work the carers do.

"We’ve got a fantastic team and some of the feedback from the customers and the professionals in the CQC report was truly exceptional.
