Three people from Ware have been charged with the murder of a 50-year-old man in Hertford, who has now been named by police.

Stuart Smith, 42, Karen Lynn, 41, and Charlie Penn, 20, all of Cromwell Road, were previously charged with grievous bodily harm, but this has now been changed to murder.

The victim has now been named for the first time as Wayne Ambridge from Ware.

Officers were called to the Tesco car park in Ware Road at around 8.15pm on Saturday, November 4, following reports of an altercation between a group of people.

Mr Ambridge sustained serious injuries and was admitted to hospital where he sadly died on Thursday, November 9.

A murder investigation was subsequently launched by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.
