MP Bim Afolami visited Pinehill Hospital in Hitchin to learn more about how their work treating patients across Hertfordshire.

Pinehill Hospital director Duncan Barton and head of clinical services Clare Granada gave Mr Afolami a tour of the hospital's healthcare services, which include orthopaedics, general surgery, diagnostics, cosmetic surgery and more.

Mr Afolami found out about Pinehill's relationship with Lister Hospital, and spent time with staff on the wards and in radiology, outpatients and bookings.

He said: "Making sure that people in Hitchin have access to the highest possible standard of local healthcare provision is one of my top priorities as the local Member of Parliament.

"I enjoyed a highly productive visit to Pinehill Hospital – finding out about all the work they do in our local community.

Pinehill Hospital also sponsors the under-11 girls side at Hitchin Belles Football Club and Hitchin Rugby Club, as well as providing free basic life support training.
