A sentimental locket and a Sekonda watch have been stolen during a series of burglaries in Letchworth.

The burglaries took place between Sunday, December 31, and Saturday, January 6, with a number of items taken from three addresses in the town.

Townley, January 2

Firstly, at around 5pm on Tuesday, January 2, a flat was broken into in Townley and a silver Sekonda watch stolen from a jewellery box.

A suspect was seen riding away from the scene on a bicycle towards Radburn Way.

He was described as a male, dressed in dark-coloured/black clothing and was wearing a black balaclava.

Townley, December 31 to January 6

Between midday on Sunday, December 31, and 6pm on Saturday, January 6, a house was broken into in Townley whilst the victim was away from their home.

Officers believe that the suspect or suspects entered the property via an open window, before stealing jewellery from the premises.

Blackmore, January 2

A third burglary took place in Blackmore at around 7pm on Tuesday, January 2.

The suspect, a male, took multiple items of jewellery including a sentimental gold locket on a gold chain.

Hertfordshire police have appealed for anyone with information about the burglaries to come forward.

PC Nicole Goodyer said: "Our enquiries are continuing, and I am appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch.

"I would also like to hear form anyone who thinks they may have seen the stolen items.

“If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time, please get in touch.

"Additionally, if you have a doorbell cam fitted, please check it as you may have recorded some crucial footage to assist our investigation.
