Planning applications are among the key public notices in Stevenage and North Hertfordshire that are set to affect residents.

1. 38 new homes could be built in Stevenage

Stevenage Borough Council are hoping to build 38 new homes on the site known as Cartref in Symonds Green.

If plans are approved, 26 four-bedroom homes and 12 one- and two-bedroom flats can be built.

The houses will be for sale at market rates, while the flats will be available for social rent.

2. 157 affordable homes could be coming to Letchworth

Housing association settle are hoping to redevelop homes in Campfield Way, Highover Road and Icknield Way (49A to 75B odd numbers only).

The development would include 157 new affordable homes, including flats and a mix of terraced, semi-detached and detached houses. Bungalows would also be constructed.

3. Plans to replace part of restaurant with bedrooms in Baldock hotel

The George in Baldock is planning to replace parts of a restaurant with additional bedrooms.

Four new bedrooms would be added to the hotel if plans are approved by North Herts Council.

They said that the "restaurant has not been viable to run at the current size" since the pandemic.

4. New housing development in Knebworth

An outline planning application has been submitted for a development of up to nine new homes on Park Lane in Knebworth.

If permission is granted by North Herts Council, the homes would be built on land on the western edge of the village, behind an existing detached property in Park Lane.

5. Semi-detached homes in Stevenage could be replaced by block of flats

Stevenage Borough Council are hoping to demolish two semi-detached maisonettes and replace them with 11 flats.

The proposed development, in Ellis Avenue, would include eight two-bedroom and three one-bedroom flats.
