A substance misuse treatment provider based in Letchworth has been awarded nearly £6,000 by North Herts Council’s Area Forums.
Resolve has received a total contribution of £5,915 towards its core costs.
The contributions included £1,500 each from Letchworth, Hitchin and Baldock Forums, £915 from Royston and £500 from Southern Rural.
Resolve plays a crucial role in the treatment and rehabilitation of adults dealing with substance and alcohol misuse problems.
They offer a range of services, including structured day programmes, face-to-face group therapy, one-on-one counselling and key worker guidance on issues such as housing, finance, employment, as well as family and friends support services.
Laura Hyde, CEO of Resolve, thanked the Area Forums for the funding.
She said: "We are delighted to receive financial support from North Herts Council's Area Forums.
"Addiction has a profound effect on individuals, those close to them and their wider community.
"Drug and alcohol treatment services like Resolve have been proven to reduce misuse, improve health, decrease criminality, increase employment opportunities and improve relationships.
"As a local registered charity we have to fundraise to be able to provide this much needed service in North Herts."
One anonymous person benefiting from Resolve's services highlighted the difference it had made to their personal life.
They said: "My life has become increasingly better since ‘belonging’ to Resolve.
"Having struggled chronically for a large part of my adult life, I lost everything, I was in despair and very sick.
"Through Resolve’s love, understanding and genuine care, I now have something I haven’t seen in many years – hope.
"I can’t put a price on that."
The funding approval was led by Cllr Alistair Willoughby, executive member for community and partnerships.
Mr Willoughby said: "The work that Resolve does with supporting those suffering with alcohol and drug issues and helping them to turn their lives around is amazing.
"I'm incredibly pleased that all five of our Area Forums have agreed to contribute to their core costs, to allow them to meet the needs of our community.
"I hope that anyone who finds themselves needing help knows that Resolve is there for them."
