A young Stevenage boy with autism and dyspraxia has raised more than £230 to help support other children with similar struggles to his own.
Chelsie Cockell says she is "so proud" of her son, Ryan, after he took part in a Walk for Autism fundraising challenge.
Ryan, who is eight years old, set himself the challenge of walking 1,000 steps a day for eight days to raise £50 for the charity Autism Initiatives Group.
He went on to walk a daily average of 16,667 steps, racking up a total of 133,333 steps over the eight days, and raising £234.
Ryan, who lives in Stevenage and is a pupil at Featherstone Wood Primary School, said: "Anyone who knows me knows I don’t like walking, but I wanted to do this as it’s a charity close to my family’s heart."
Chelsie added: "I’m so proud of him! Eight days of getting his steps in, eight days of raising money for autism.
"Ryan has a heart of gold and always wants to help people in need.
"He wanted to raise money for people like him, who have autism.
"He has amazed me! As a family, we are so proud of him."
