As the centre for voluntary services in North Hertfordshire and Stevenage we’re here to support charitable organisations, social enterprises, community and faith groups working to improve the lives of those living in our community.

What that support looks like? Help and advice in the setting up and running of their organisation.

We offer a range of guidance; from simplifying the rules around governance, to providing a steer on the completion of funding applications.

We field all sorts of queries through our inbox and telephone line too, and our community capacity builder, Andy Nazer, is always on hand to share his wealth of charity sector experience, on a one-to-one basis.

We provide the opportunity for local charities to meet other organisations too, hosting several networking events throughout the year.

They provide a chance for relationship building as well as knowledge and skill sharing.

Online and in person training sessions are another way we give charities the chance to strengthen their skillset and network.

We’re here to support all not-for-profit organisations, irrespective of their size, budget or longevity.

Charities requiring greater support can benefit even more through our recently revised North Herts and Stevenage CVS membership.

Members are entitled to four one-to-one sessions with Andy per year. Using their time with his expertise as they wish.

In addition, members can enjoy priority booking to our networking events and training sessions, as well as a 15 per cent discount on ticket prices.

Soon members will also be able to access an exclusive members-only online area, containing training guides, templates and tools to help in the smooth running of their organisation.

On the support received to date, Su from The Red Shed in Letchworth Garden City says: "They helped us arrange our organisation into a CIC, building our volunteer team, DBS checks, the website and volunteer day."

Harry from Letchworth Garden Shed received help from us on "compliance topics, such as documents and processes we needed in place to help with funding".
