The East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, which runs Lister Hospital in Stevenage, has issued an alert that some of their phone lines are not working.
A spokesperson for the NHS trust said: "Please be aware there are issues affecting some of our phone lines, including our switchboard number – 01438 314333.
"We are working to resolve the problem. Emergency lines are unaffected.
"If you are pregnant, cannot contact us and have any concerns about the health of your baby, please come straight to maternity triage at the Lister Diamond Jubilee Unit. A new entrance is now located opposite the main maternity car park.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
