Plans have been submitted to convert a Redbourn barn into a microbrewery, by Farr Brew owner Nick Farr.
If accepted, the application would see the usage of a barn at Great Revel End Farm, Gaddesden Lane, changed from agricultural to a microbrewery.
Farr Brew will be leaving its former site in Wheathampstead, with the owners wishing to convert the barn into an office space.
The site remains open at this time.
The Hertfordshire brewing company employs more than 100 people and operates six pubs.
A planning statement included within the plans reads: "A new premises is urgently required to maintain their existing operations.
"Without the brewery proving beer, their pubs would be unviable and at risk of closure."

No external changes would be made to the barn at Great Revel End Farm, however, the space would be divided into separate areas and brewing equipment installed.
