A Stevenage road has been closed due to the discovery of a suspicious device in a bin.
The item was found in a recycling bin on Bedwell Crescent, prior to 7.30am today (Saturday, March 30).
The road was closed to traffic between Colestrete and Abbots Grove, with police officers attending the scene.
At the time, Hertfordshire police urged residents to avoid the area.
However, the device has since been removed.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Police were called at 7.30am on Saturday 30 March to Bedwell Crescent in Stevenage after a suspicious device was discovered in a recycling bin.
"Officers attended and closed the road from Colestrete and Abbots Grove.
"The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team attended and removed the device. Road closures were lifted at 9.55am."
