Road closures are among the key public notices in Stevenage and North Hertfordshire that are set to affect residents.

1. Brunel Road in Stevenage

Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an order temporarily banning traffic from Brunel Road in Stevenage between its southernmost junction and its junction with Chells Way, a distance of approximately 340m.

The closure is to enable works to be carried out, and an alternative route will be available via Chells Way, Newton Road and Telford Avenue.

The order would come into force on April 22 for a period of up to 18 months, though the roads will only be closed at specific times rather than constantly. Closure times will be specified on signs on or near the roads.

2. Ashtons Lane in Baldock

Hertfordshire County Council has made an order temporarily banning traffic from Ashtons Lane for its entire length northwards of its junction with Weston Way.

The closure is to enable utility service works to be carried out, and no alternative route is available. However, the notice states that vehicle access to properties in the road will be "maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works".

The order will come into force on April 8 for a period of up to 18 months, though the road will only be closed at specific times rather than constantly.

3. Goddard End in Stevenage

Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an order temporarily banning traffic from Goddard End in Stevenage, southwards from its junction with Broadwater Lane for a distance of around 230m.

The closure is to enable works to be carried out, and there will be no alternative route. However, the notice states that vehicle access to properties in the road will be "maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works".

The order would come into force on April 22 for a period of up to 18 months, though the road will only be closed at specific times rather than constantly.

The order will come into force on April 9 for a period of up to 18 months, though the road will only be closed at specific times rather than constantly.

5. Harkness Way in Hitchin

Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an order temporarily banning traffic from Harkness Way in Hitchin between its junction with Grovelands Avenue and its junction with Frensham Drive.

The closure is to enable utility service works to be carried out, and an alternative route will be available via Grovelands Avenue, Millard Way, Cambridge Road and Harkness Way.

The order would come into force on April 22 for a period of up to 18 months, though the road will only be closed at specific times rather than constantly.
