Motorists using the M25 near Watford, London Colney and Potters Bar face disruption as the major road is set to close several times overnight in the next fortnight.

There are five planned closures on the key route through Hertfordshire of which three are expected to cause moderate delays of up to 30 minutes.

They will all take place between junctions 22 and 24 - London Colney and Potters Bar - with diversions along local authority roads.

Why: Carriageway closure, entry slip road closures and lane closures for maintenance works

Where: Anti-clockwise, junction 24 to junction 23 

Why: Place of relative safety (PRS) bay enabling works

April 15 to 17 anti-clockwise

When: 10pm from 5am

Where: Anti-clockwise, junction 23

Why:  Lane and slip road closures for electrical works

Moderate delays (10-30 minutes)

April 17 to 19 clockwise

When: 10pm from 5am

Where: Clockwise, junction 23 to junction 24

Why: Lane closures and slip road closure for maintenance works
