Road closures are among the key public notices in Stevenage and North Hertfordshire that are set to affect residents.

Here are a few notices which could impact residents in Stevenage, Letchworth and the surrounding villages in the coming months.

1. Wychdell in Stevenage

Hertfordshire County Council has made an order temporarily banning traffic from Wychdell in Stevenage, for its entire length eastwards from its westernmost junction with Broadwater Crescent. Waiting on both sides of the road will also be banned.

The closure is to enable works to be carried out, and an alternative route will be available via Broadwater Crescent.

The order will come into force on July 22 for a period of up to 18 months, though the road will only be closed at specific times rather than constantly.

Closure times will be specified on signs on or near the road.

2. Icknield Way in Letchworth

Hertfordshire County Council has made an order temporarily banning traffic from Icknield Way in Stevenage, for approximately 140m eastwards from its junction with Wilbury Hills Road.

The closure is to enable telecommunication works to be carried out, and an alternative route will be available via Station Place, Broadway, Spring Road and Station Way.

The order will come into force on July 7 for a period of up to 18 months, though the road will only be closed at specific times rather than constantly.

Closure times will be specified on signs on or near the road.

3. Graveley Road in Great Wymondley

Hertfordshire County Council has made an order temporarily banning traffic from Graveley Road in Great Wymondley, from its junction with Graveley Lane to its junction with Willian Way. Waiting on both sides of the road will also be banned.

The closure is to enable works to be carried out, and an alternative route will be available via Priory Lane, Stevenage Road and Arch Road.

The order will come into force on July 22 for a period of up to 18 months, though the road will only be closed at specific times rather than constantly.

4. Muddy Lane in Letchworth

Hertfordshire County Council has made an order temporarily banning traffic from Muddy Lane in Letchworth, for around 20m eastwards from its junction with A505 Baldock Road.

The closure is to enable gas mains to be replaced. No alternative route will be available, but vehicular access to properties will be maintained whenever possible.

The order will come into force on July 22 for a period of up to 18 months, though the road will only be closed at specific times rather than constantly.

5. Station Way in Letchworth

Hertfordshire County Council has made an order temporarily banning traffic from Station Way in Letchworth, for a distance of around 70m westwards from its junction with Bridge Road.

The closure is to enable telecommunication works to be carried out, and an alternative route will be available via Station Place, Broadway, Spring Road and Station Way.

The order will come into force on July 7 for a period of up to 18 months, though the road will only be closed at specific times rather than constantly.
