Police have descended on a farm in Hertfordshire in a fresh search for the remains of a woman who was kidnapped more than 50 years ago.
Muriel McKay, the wife of Alick McKay, chief executive at News International and close friend of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, was kidnapped from her Wimbledon home in 1969, after being mistakenly identified as Murdoch’s wife.
A ransom of £1,000,000 was set by the kidnappers - brothers Arthur and Nizamodeen Hosein, who were later convicted of Muriel's kidnapping and murder in September 1970.
Despite extensive search efforts, Muriel's body has never been found.
Now, police have returned to a farm in Hertfordshire, which has been searched several times since Muriel was kidnapped.
Around 20 officers from the Met Police and Hertfordshire Constabulary have been on site today, where they have been digging inside a barn, in a fresh effort to find Muriel's remains.
