Stevenage have pulled a surprise by making a second deadline day signing - goalkeeper Jökull Andrésson.
The Icelandic-born 21-year-old comes in as cover for Taye Ashby-Hammond who has picked up an injury.
The Reading stopper was on the bench when Boro won 2-1 in the Carabao Cup back in August.
He has been on loan at a few clubs in the last couple of years and most recently was signed by Exeter City as an emergency loan.
The club confirmed that they had to move quickly as Ashby-Hammond "will be missing for several weeks after suffering a non-contact injury in training today".
Most thought Boro's business was done when they announced left-back Josh Reid at 7.30pm.
He came in on loan until the end of the season from Coventry City.
