Letchworth Garden City was the venue for the now annual Greenway Challenge.

Held over the circular route that surrounds the Garden City estate, the North Herts Road Runners organised event attracted 142 athletes with 17 of the home club taking on the self-guided 13.2-mile course

And in ideal conditions, the Squirrels claimed victories in both the female and male categories, Dervla Downing completing the course in one hour 47 minutes to claim the former, Stewart Overton managing 1:21 for the latter.

Russ Wingfield and Simon Burton were the duo from Stevenage Phoenix involved, finishing in times of 1:50:50 and 2:29:35, the latter completing his first half marathon.

Fairlands Valley Spartans took 14 to the event.

Nick Gill was 12th overall in 1:52:47, one place and barely a stride ahead of John Harris.

Kim Tyler also came in under two hours, clocking 1:59:35.

Jess Ives-Keeler of Stevenage Striders ran her first ever half marathon and finished in a very impressive 1:59:41.

Helen Moye also took part, crossing the line in 2:07:43.
