The culmination of the 2022-2023 season means Stevenage fans can now look ahead to a new campaign in League One - and they aren't the only ones casting their eyes to the horizon.

Before the dust had even settled on yet another dramatic play-off weekend, one betting company was giving odds for the League One title in the 2023-2024 season.

Derby County head the pack as 5-1 favourites with Sky Bet, Bolton Wanderers the team expected to join them in automatic promotion at 7-1.

Beaten play-off finalists Barnsley, Peterborough United, Reading and Portsmouth follow them and would make the end of season showdown according to the organisation.

Wigan Athletic, who will start the season with an eight-point deduction, are priced at 16-1 along with Charlton Athletic, just outside of the top six teams.

Stevenage's price to win the League One crown is 40-1 - the same as Lincoln City, Northampton Town, Port Vale and Shrewsbury Town - and there are five teams with even longer prices than that, including Cambridge United.

Absolute outsiders so far are Cheltenham Town who have been given odds of 80-1.
