The track was the focus for many clubs this week - with the Resolution 5k taking place at Ridlins in Stevenage
There were four pace graded races throughout the evening, with a timing mat and clock every 400m for the 12 full laps.
North Herts Road Runners had representation in every race.
Stewart Overton, Ian Datlen, John Auld and Rhia Botha won the team event, almost five minutes quicker than second placed squad of Nick Gill, Mike Jeffs, Ashley Johnson and Yuko Gordon from Fairlands Valley Spartans.
And there were some PBs as well for the Squirrels.
Mike Over clocked 19 minutes 23 seconds, Rhia Botha was excellently paced by David Edwards to 19:32 and second female overall, Jane Clarke managed 21:34 and Cara Sutton 25:12.
There were first places in the age groups too - Overton (MV40), Pete Sibbett (MV60), Lucy O’Connor (FV55) and Monica Cullen (FV75).
For FVS, Gill was first in for the club at third overall, and first senior male in 18:03, while Jeffs was second senior in 18:26.
Johnson was first woman in a time of 19:31 while Gordon's time of 22:22 was the best in her category.
Jim Brown won his category too in 27:13.
Gordon was also successful in Nuneaton as she won the women's 70-plus 1500m race at the England Masters Inter Area Track & Field Challenge.
There was a parkrun PB of 17:20 for Kirk Ndugu as he took the win at Stevenage where former Spartan Dave Allaway was among the field, 20 years after leaving Stevenage for New Zealand.
Matt Tutton also set a PB at the London Summer 10k.
Held around the outer path of Regents Park, he finished in 54:25.
The park was also the venue for The One in the Park 10k, which used a route past London Zoo.
That was won in a blistering time of 35:50 by North Herts Road Runners' Shahab Ahmad.
Stevenage Phoenix also had a zoo theme as the highlight in their week of running - although the venue they used was Colchester Castle.
Gavin and Colette Cooper, Phil Gover, Scott Crawford and Chris Leigh all took part in the castle parkrun, altered due to a civil ware re-enactment.
After that though they did a bit of 'Strava art', using the popular app to trace out a second 5k run in the shape of an elephant.
The five Phoenicians were joined by Suzy Taylor for that one.
Elsewhere Ashley Bates ran the Ultra X 110 in Snowdonia over two days, completing the 38-mile loop on Saturday before doing the 30-mile course on Sunday, all over some of the highest peaks in south Snowdonia.
He finished day one in 10:52:46 and day two in 13:14:15.
Jodie Kantas took on the Big Pilgrimage 15 while on holiday on the south coast.
The point-to-point race follows the start of an old trail that took pilgrims from Southampton to Canterbury.
It follows coastal and countryside trails and even had a ride in a speed boat about half way through.
Kantas finished in 2:29:21.
