Steve Evans still has his eyes on one more new face at Stevenage - but admitted that was anything but a done deal.
The League One promotion chasers have added three new faces to the side already in Craig MacGillivray, Vadaine Oliver and Nesta Guinness-Walker.
If anything does happen though, it will bae later on deadline day, although perhaps not as late as the deal to sign Harvey White from Tottenham was in the summer.
"Harvey was a late one, yeah,” laughed the boss. “I can remember phoning the kid at 10:30pm at night to get it over the line.
"When I say a late one, it is because there are three of four at the table trying to sign this particular player.
"It's not about whether we can meet the demands of the other club, because that's already satisfied.
"It's just about where that player decides he wants to leave his club, he wasn't convinced on that when I had a brief chat with him yesterday.
"He has to be convinced to leave the parent club, and it would be a permanent deal.
"[If he does] then he has to choose one of the [clubs] from League One that want him.
"We'll see.

"But I'll repeat, we’re not going to be doing any late deals other than something coming to the market that wasn't at the market as of last night or as of this morning.
"That can happen. Harvey White wasn’t in the marketplace to do a permanent deal at 5pm in the last window but by 9pm, he was, he was going to be available.
"That's just about what other clubs do with their business and how it can impact us but
"I'm not expecting any late-night drama but sometimes in this game, you get some when you’re not expecting to."
