Stevenage have identified a new transfer target according to unconfirmed reports.

Alex Revell made Louis Appere his first signing of his second spell in charge, the Northampton Town forward arriving last week.

It now appears that his next capture could be in defensive midfield, Crystal Palace's Malachi Boateng.

The 21-year-old spent last season in the Scottish Premiership, impressing at Dundee where he made 32 league appearances.

Dee manager Tony Docherty had said in an interview with the Dundee Courier back in October that "Mal has been very good for us and shown a real level of consistency".

He added: "We did a lot of work on him before he came here so we knew what he would bring and how much potential there was still there.

"He’s more than just a sitting midfielder, he’s a really fit boy and is technically very good.

"I’m really pleased with him, he’s brought a high level of performance."

The player himself had not ruled out making it into the first-team picture at Selhurst Park but if that doesn't happen, a move to League One Boro could be a viable alternative.
