Stevenage have set their sights of adding to their defensive ranks and have set their sights on a former Peterborough United and Brighton man.
Lewis Freestone is a 24-year-old defender who has been playing with Cheltenham Town for the last four seasons, making in excess of 100 league appearances for the Robins.
And reports from Gloucestershire Live state that Boro have made two bids for the King's Lynn native, the first of which was rejected.
No indication has made made of the status of the second offer, that will fall into the hands of Michael Flynn who was appointed as manager of the Robins on Friday, replacing Barnsley bound Darrell Clarke.
Freestone, who had time on loan at Cambridge City and St Albans City while with Posh before making a switch to Brighton's U23 squad, has one year left on his contract at Whaddon Road.
He predominantly plays on the left-hand side of the defence.
