James (Jim) Alfred George Mead

It is with huge sadness to announce the death of James (Jim) Alfred George Mead on the 6th October 2023 at the Lister Hospital aged 82 years. A much loved husband to Ros, dad to Liza and Christian and grandad to his 5 grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Jim was well known from running his Mace shop in Bearton Road Hitchin and his cafe The Nip-In in Pixmore Avenue in Letchworth. He was a larger than life character, a popular member of Letchworth Golf Club and a lifelong Luton Town football supporter. Jim's funeral service takes place at 1.00pm on Monday 30th October at North Hertfordshire Memorial Park and Crematorium. Family flowers only.
