Teddy Sheringham says former Arsenal midfielder Jack Jebb could learn from teenager Dale Gorman - and vice-versa.
Jebb, who had two spells on loan at Stevenage from the Gunners last season, joined Boro on a one-year deal in September but has not featured since being replaced at half-time in the 2-0 home defeat to Mansfield Town on September 29.
He has been suffering from an ankle injury and made his return for Stevenage in the Herts Senior Cup last week at Cheshunt alongside fellow youngster Gorman, who is 19 and from the club’s academy.
Speaking about his return to the fold, Sheringham said Jebb has the talent but could learn certain aspects of his game from the likes of Gorman.
“Jack is a talented player from Arsenal. He still needs to understand the nitty-gritty of Division Two football,” Sheringham said.
“He will get better in my view but he needs to learn all about that side of the game really, not just about the passing and scoring side of it. He’s a young man, but he’s coming of age. Long may that continue for his learning process.”
Sheringham added: “Dale Gorman could probably teach Jebby a few things on that side.
“He has the nitty-gritty that’s needed to get about the pitch and to get close to League Two people. The other side of Dale is we need him to calm down.
“The two of them can learn from each other. They could be a nice balance in midfield; that’s why we put them together to accommodate together. It’s nice to see them come along.”
