A 96-year old lady in Letchworth is supporting the Poppy Appeal again this year by knitting poppies.
Eleanor Fox has been involved with the Poppy Appeal for 35 years, and has been knitting poppies for the last six years.
She says that "we must remember what people went through in the war so we can live happily today".
At the time of writing, Eleanor had already knitted 60 poppies for this year’s appeal.
Her husband, Albert, served in Burma during the Second World War, and he and Eleanor revisited the country (now Myanmar) in 2005. Sadly, Albert died 14 years ago.
Their daughter, Margaret, says that “we need to remember all the services working each day to keep us safe”.
