A vacant Grade II listed building in Stevenage High Street, formerly The Vault nightclub, has been taken over by dessert house chain Kaspa's.
Listed Building Consent has been granted by Stevenage Borough Council for Kaspa's to make internal alterations to the ground floor layout, which includes removing some partitions, and to put up external signage.
Kaspa's Desserts will occupy both the ground and basement floors of the building.
BEAMS, the trading company of the Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust, said it has "significant concerns over proposed internal cladding with plasterboard", but found "the overall benefits of the development would outweigh the level of harm which is caused by the proposed works".
The building was constructed in the late 17th century or early 18th century as a house.
