Prior to the presentation, teachers at the school have bid for a variety of educational aides.
As a result, part of the donation will now go to the biology, chemistry and music departments as well as the eco environment club, following their successful bids.
Hitchin Boys' School's Christmas Fayre also featured a raffle, in which a top prize of a £200 Amazon voucher was awarded.
A chocolate tombola was enjoyed, along with mulled wine, carols and Christmas lights.
Mr Moane was described as being "over the moon" with the cheque, and has thanked parents for continuously supporting the school.
