Lonsdale School in Stevenage has created a memorial garden to remember pupils and staff who have died, and it includes a special tree from The Queen's Green Canopy (QGC).
The QGC is a UK-wide tree planting initiative created to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Lonsdale, a school for physically and neurologically impaired children aged three to 18, was presented with the special tree by Hertfordshire's Lord Lieutenant Robert Voss, in a pot embossed with the Queen's cypher.
Headteacher Annemari Ottridge said: "I’m deeply honoured and touched that our school has been chosen to receive one of the prestigious trees. It makes us feel very special.
"This tree will remind everyone who sees it in our memorial garden that they belong to a local and global community."
