Vinyl is officially back, and so is Record Store Day this Saturday - a celebration of the unique music culture.
After UK record sales hit 5.5 million in 2022 - the most since 1990 - more and more people are collecting vinyl.
Here are the best record shops to visit on Record Store Day 2023 to start or add to your collection.
David's - Letchworth
An iconic store that has been part of the community for 60 years, David's is a must-visit for Record Store Day.
They have something for every music fan, with thousands of vinyls to choose from including bargains and records perfect for a collector.
There's plenty more to see and do at David's too, with the famous bookshop next door and a coffee shop to enjoy.
You can't go wrong with a trip here.
Empire Records - St Albans
Having opened in 2013, Empire Records has grown to become one of the very best record stores in the area.
Selling vinyls from every genre imaginable, there's a bit of something for everyone, and it has that old school record shop feel.
As the only music shop in the city, it's the best place to go for record lovers.
Revolution Records - Stevenage and Royston
The vinyl revolution is in full swing, and Revolution Records want you to be a part of it.
Stocking a wide range of genres including Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Pop, Funk & Soul, Blues, Reggae, Jazz, Soundtracks and Compilations, you'll probably find whatever you're looking for a Revolution.
They have a store in Stevenage old town, and recently opened anothe in nearby Royston.
Rave Logic - Hemel Hempstead
For those who enjoy raving and the music that comes with it, then this is the place for you.
With a vast selections of records, Rave Logic also puts on parties and events for music lovers.
It's a bit different from your traditional record store, but we think that's what makes it special.
Our Favourite Shop - Hitchin
Another record store with a bit of difference is Hitchin's Our Favourite Shop.
While they might not have as many records on sale as the other stores on this list, you can still find some really interesting and unique vinyls.
What you will find plenty of is vintage clothes, which combined with the records provide a proper retro experience.
As a Hitchin resident and record collector myself, this is one of my go-to stores.
