Stevenage's Kady McDermott is making a shock return to Love Island for a second chance at finding love in the villa.
At the end of Thursday night's episode, fans were left stunned as the 27-year-old's arrival in Mallorca was revealed, having established herself as a show favourite when she appeared on season two back in 2016.
She coupled up with Scott Thomas and got all the way to the final, earning herself a reputation as fiesty contestant having been at the centre of a number of arguements, including a fight with Malia Arkian who was removed from the show.
Speaking about her return to Love Island, Kady admitted she's still a "fiery pocket rocket", and has no regrets over her season two appearance.
"I think I’m known from season two for being so chaotic," she said.
"People always ask, ‘do you have regrets?’ expecting me to say yes, but I was so true to myself and I was 100 per cent authentic.
"I’ll still be like that now, but seven years on, I am more mature. I’m still the fiery pocket rocket but I know what I want and what I don’t want.
"Don’t get me wrong, I’m still going to be me and the fire I have is in my soul, I’ll never get rid of that and I love that about me, but I’m a lot more emotionally mature now, so I know how to navigate things better. I’ve grown up a lot.
"Last time I got with Scott straight away and I was so ‘tunnel vision’. It’ll be interesting to see what connections I’ll form this time."
And she's got her eyes on a few boys already, adding: "Zach’s my number one, Tyrique on looks, but he might need his ego putting down a little bit. I also want to get to know Mitch.
"Age is a big thing for me, immaturity in a man for me, it’s just a complete no. I don’t like boys that are too cheeky, I just don’t trust them. Zach seems the most chilled and and is nice to look at."
After the news was revealed, a petition was launched by 'Parents WGC' calling for Welwyn Garden City BID to "get a local hero to switch the Christmas lights on, instead of a girl off Love Island".
More than 1,100 people signed the petition and Kady's appearance was cancelled.
In a post on Snapchat, she revealed she was "flattered" to be asked to turn on the lights, and that she had received "absolutely disgusting comments" following the petition.
"All day I was called a **** and a ****," she said.
"Honestly, the comments I read from people where I grew up - they don’t know me on a personal level. It’s absolutely disgusting.
"If you don’t want me to turn on the lights, absolutely fine, but I have been bullied and trolled. It’s absolutely disgusting.
"I think people forget that Love Island doesn’t define me.
"I get it, not everyone likes Love Island but I have been treated like I’m from Crimewatch. I’m from Love Island not Crimewatch.
"You would think Hitler was turning on the lights."
