A man has been taken to Lister Hospital after he was found on the tracks near Stevenage railway station earlier today (Monday, July 24).
Police, ambulance and fire services attended the scene, with Herts police the first to be called at around 9.45am to reports of "a concern for the welfare of a man" on Six Hills Way - the road between Gunnels Wood Road and the A602.
At 9.48am, Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to "a report that a person had fallen from the bridge" that carries Six Hills Ways over the railway line.
Firefighters rescued the man who had fallen from the railway line, and assisted the ambulance service with "casualty care". Three fire engines and an aerial ladder platform attended the incident.

The East of England Ambulance Service was called to the incident at 9.52am, and sent an ambulance, rapid response vehicle, and an ambulance officer vehicle. They confirmed that one man had been taken to Lister Hospital "for further care".
Investigations are now being led by British Transport Police, who were called shortly before 10am "to reports of a casualty on the tracks". Their enquiries are ongoing.
Power to the railway lines running through Stevenage had to be switched off to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident safely.
The line had reopened by 10.56am, but disruption was expected to continue until 1pm.
