Peckers, a chicken restaurant and takeaway in Hitchin, has submitted a planning application for a unit in Stevenage.
Mr Sanjay Chandarana - co-owner of Peckers - submitted plans for the former Unit 3, Kenilworth Close, last month (December 2023).
If accepted, the application would see the unit's usage changed from "Class E" (shops) to "Sui Generis" (hot food takeaway).
A proposed layout of the restaurant has been included in the plans. This features tables, chairs, a kitchen and office space.
A comment from Stevenage Borough Council's environment health officers said: "Mechanical ventilation equipment from the kitchen area must be so positioned and designed so as not to affect the amenity of residents as a result of fume or odorous discharge.
"As such the external ducting shall discharge the cooking fumes at least one meter above the roof ridge of the building housing the extraction equipment.
