A van has overturned and caught fire during a crash near Stevenage.
The incident took place prior to 11.19am on Saturday morning (January 6) near Junction 8 for Stevenage and North Hitchin.
A white Peugeot Partner van was involved, having overturned and caught fire during the collision.
One of the van's occupants left the scene prior to the police's arrival, and could not be found during a search.
Three other individuals were taken to hospital, one with a serious head injury.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Officers attended along with colleagues from the fire and ambulance services.
"The carriageway was closed while emergency services attended the scene.
"Three people were taken to hospital, two with minor injuries and one with a serious head injury."
