Hertfordshire police had to deal with some unusual escapees yesterday (Wednesday, January 10) after two sheep escaped onto the A505.
The marauding animals made a nuisance of themselves, but police officers were hot on their hooves after being called to the road, near to the Baldock/Wallington slip road, at around 10.30am.
They closed the road while dealing with the sheep, which had escaped from a nearby farm.
There will be no need for the escapees to spend time behind baaas, however. A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed that they were safely returned to their home instead - proof that all's wool that ends wool.
The road was reopened at 11.47am.
