Three teenagers have been arrested after a 17-year-old was threatened near a Stevenage underpass.

At around 6.45pm on Saturday evening (January 27), a group of teenagers approached the boy near Asda in Monkswood Way.

It is alleged that the group threatened him, before trying to take his phone.

Hertfordshire police "immediately" located a group of teenagers in the area, before detaining and searching them.

Two boys from Biggleswade, aged 13 and 15, were arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.

A 17-year-old girl from Stevenage was also taken into custody on suspicion of possession of a bladed article.

All three teenagers have been released on bail while enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Reducing anti-social behaviour is a local priority for the town centre area, and local neighbourhood officers continue to work to disrupt individuals coming to Stevenage to commit offences or anti-social behaviour."
