Following the unveiling of three new pieces of urban artwork at the Broadhall Way roundabout, the community has been invited to vote on what will come next.

The artworks were revealed in 2023, located by Stevenage FC's Lamex Stadium and Wickes, as part of a partnership between Stevenage Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council.

As part of the ongoing programme, the councils have invited the community to help select which three themes will be chosen for future artworks.

Six themes tied to the town's history and culture have been identified: Eric Claxton, Town Centre Gardens, William Mitchell, 'Stevenage on Wheels', Stevenage Town Centre, and Stevenage photographers.

Once whittled down to three, the new creations will be at the Monkswood Way and Six Hills Way roundabout.

The community and businesses can pick their favourites in an online survey available at https://forms.office.com/e/9ZiiWg7vzL.

The borough council's leader, Cllr Richard Henry, said: "We were delighted with the reaction to the underpasses completed in 2023, and the sense of community pride that they have instilled.

"This is a project for our communities and we encourage everyone to get involved to help us shape this next set of artworks for Stevenage."

Cllr Loraine Rossati, executive member for culture, leisure, and information technology at the borough council, added: "We want to work with our local communities to help shape the designs for this next set of artworks, and others in the future, and we are delighted to be able to announce this survey today.

"We look forward to seeing the results."

The survey will conclude at midday on Friday, March 8, and forms part of a broader initiative, funded by the Stevenage Development Board through the government's Towns Fund.

Stevenage was a recipient of £37.5 million from this fund in March 2021.
