A woman who lives in Stevenage says she has been left feeling "really upset" after "a disgusting right wing conspiracy theory newspaper" was posted through her letterbox.
Amanda Wakefield, who lives in the St Nicholas area of Stevenage, says she received a copy of The Light "unsolicited by a man, either wrapped up against the weather or difficult to identify".
The Light is a self-published monthly newspaper founded by Darren Smith in 2020.
The paper has been criticised for spreading COVID-19 misinformation, anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, Holocaust denial and death threats.
Amanda said: "A disgusting right wing conspiracy theory newspaper was put through my letterbox unsolicited by a man, either wrapped up against the weather or difficult to identify.
"The rubbish spewed in this item is offensive and complete lies.
"I was really upset by this, and also concerned that such right wing rubbish is being circulated in our town.
"I have not asked any of my neighbours if they also got a copy because it was upsetting enough for me to receive it.
"I love living in Stevenage because of the multicultural nature of it, and my housing block reflects the brilliant mix of cultural heritage that makes up our town."
The Comet contacted The Light for a response to Amanda's concerns, but Darren instead accused our own publication of hate speech and disinformation.
He said: "Your organisation is in line with the policies and plans of every major corporation, investment bank, government and supragovernment organisation.
"We oppose everything they are doing. That makes us a target of hate speech and disinformation from your organisation.
"It's what you are paid to do, by said organisations."
