Police believe a fire that engulfed a stable in Baldock yesterday "may have been started deliberately".
Officers and fire crews both attended the scene Weston Way at around 10.34am yesterday (April 7), to find a wooden stable on fire.
A Herts police spokesman confirmed that the fire may have been "deliberate", saying: "Police were called by the fire service at around 10.40am yesterday (April 7), following reports that a wooden stable was on fire on Weston Way, Baldock.
"It is the believed the fire may have been started deliberately and enquiries are continuing."
A Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: "We were called at 10.34am to reports of a fire in an outbuilding on Weston Way, Baldock.
"Two fire engines, from Letchworth & Baldock and Hitchin fire stations were sent to the scene, where crews found a stable building well alight, with the fire spreading to nearby trees and vegetation.
"Firefighters contained and extinguished the fire, which was all out by 11.05am."
