Fake QR codes have reportedly been appearing on car parking payment machines in North Hertfordshire.
In a statement published on social media, North Herts Council said that they had been receiving reports of "false QR code stickers appearing on our car park payment machines".

Their statement added: "We do not use QR codes on our machines, so please do not scan it or use it in case it is part of a payment scam."
North Herts Council machines only accept payment through the machine itself or via the PayByPhone app.
The council have asked anybody who sees a QR code on their machines to let them know by emailing parking.services@north-herts.gov.uk with details of the machine in question.
