North Herts Conservatives have appointed a new party leader following last week's local elections, when the previous leader Cllr David Levett lost his seat.
Cllr Ralph Muncer has become the new leader of the Conservative Group at North Herts Council.
Commenting on his election Cllr Muncer, who represents Codicote and Kimpton on the district Council said: “It’s a real privilege to have been elected by my colleagues to lead the Conservatives at North Hertfordshire Council.
"I wish to pay tribute to my predecessor, David Levett, who has served the people of both Letchworth and North Herts dutifully over the last 18 years, most recently as leader of the opposition.
"Under my leadership, the Conservatives will hold whoever forms the next administration accountable for the consequences of the policies they implement, as well as providing effective scrutiny to ensure the council delivers on the priorities of residents across the district, including our rural communities which so often have been neglected by the council.”
