The Muslim community gathered to celebrate Eid-Al-Adha at Hampson Park in Stevenage yesterday (Sunday).
The Eid festival marked the first event in the park for the town's Muslim community, and was organised by the Stevenage Muslim Community Centre in collaboration with Stevenage Borough Council.
The event, which the town's mayor, Jim Brown, and mayoress Penny Schenkel attended, began with a prayer and sermon at 10am, followed by various activities until 1.30pm.
Sandra Alloo, a member of the management committee, said: "I would like to thank all for attending our first Stevenage Eid festival and creating historic moments for Stevenage Muslims.
"Seeing everyone praying together despite the rain and enjoying themselves made us proud. What a great Muslim community we have here!
"A massive thank you to all the supporters, including Stevenage Borough Council and volunteers, for their dedication and hard work."
