A woman in a wheelchair was left with injuries after being assaulted in a "distressing" incident in Stevenage.
At around 1pm on Saturday, June 29, an elderly woman in a wheelchair was travelling along an underpass in Canterbury Way, when she was approached by a teenager riding a bicycle.
He tried to snatch her handbag before assaulting the victim, who is in her mid-70s, causing a cut to her leg. Nothing was stolen, and she later attended hospital for treatment.
The suspect is described as a black teenager, aged approximately 16 to 18 years old and wearing a white T-shirt. He also had a faded haircut, and was riding a black and silver bike.
PC George Mitchell, who is investigating, said: "This was understandably a distressing incident for the victim, and I am appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.
