Ever wondered what streets are the cheapest and most expensive to buy in Hitchin? New data has given us the answer.
Sales company Property Solvers used the HM Land Registry to track the average sold price data from 2019 to 2024, finding the lowest and highest priced homes in the town.
It may comes as no surprise that The Avenue tops the list with a price of £1,179,600, closely followed by Cherry Tree Gardens at £1,130,000, and Mill Lane in St Ippolyts at £1,101,904.
Pirton Road (£1,068,928), Benslow Rise (£1,049,000), Highbury Road (£1,035,375), Ransom Close (£1,035,000), Half Acre (£1,021,541), Lancaster Avenue (£983,437), and Wymondley Road (£952,000) are also among the most expensive.
The cheapest was Seymour Court at a price of £107,363, followed by French Lodge at £141,666, and Regal Court at £145,388.
Wedgewood Road (£156,250), Watersmeet in Grove Road (£157,300), Balliol Chambers in Hollow Lane (£168,500), Millstream Close (£169,884), Wedgewood Road (£171,333), and Cadwell Court in Cadwell Lane (£173,000) were also among the cheapest.
"To keep the data less skewed, we only ranked the streets that had over three sales," said Property Solvers co-founder Ruban Selvanayagam.
"It’s therefore worth noting that, in recent years, a property on Benslow Lane sold for £1,951,041 and, at the other end of the market, there were properties that sold for £60,000 and under on Watersmeet, Sharps Court and Watersmeet."
